World Solar Challenge 2009

towards tomorrow

Kormilda College students have competed in every World Solar Challenge since 1996. Their participation has only been possible thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the College, friends and families.

The 2009 Global Green Challenge comprised two categories: the World Solar Challenge for purely solar-powered vehicles; and the Eco Challenge for environmentally friendly production and experimental vehicles. We now hope to participate in the 2011 Challenge.

The Challenge is  a unique adventure, that attracts teams from all over the world including universities,technical institutes, private entrepreneurs, and past participants.

The Challenge: To design and build a car capable of crossing the vast and imposing continent of Australia using only sunlight as fuel, and in the spirit of friendly competition, prove it!
