A World of Opportunity

We recently contacted some past students to ask for personal reflections on their Gap year experiences. What wonderful ambassadors for Kormilda College!

Oliver Crossley (Kormilda College 2010)

“Looking back on my time at the Monastery, it was the best decision I ever made. Living amongst a culture so different from our own made me question and re-evaluate everything I thought I knew about the world - and for the better. By the end of my trip to India I was a completely new person, a global citizen. I came home and started Uni with motivation, passion and drive that I’d never had before.“

Breanna Gabbert (Kormilda College 2013)

“I felt a lot of pressure in Year 12 to go straight into Uni the following year. Instead, I made the choice to volunteer as an English Teacher in Poland at a School for the Blind. My time in Europe (as an adult) allowed me to meet different people and grow as an individual, having more time to think about my priorities and what pathway to take at Uni. I now feel as though I have a better understanding of life outside of school.”

Kormilda College is an Anglican and Uniting Church College.
