A World of Opportunity

Who should study the IB?

The IB Diploma is best suited to self-motivated students who:

  • Are planning to study at university
  • Have mature personal study habits
  • Have a capacity for critical and creative thinking
  • Are willing to adopt an international perspective

The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) is based in Geneva, Switzerland and was founded in 1968. The IBO aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who will help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Teachers of the International Baccalaureate programme teach students to understand their work so that they might apply that understanding to any situation, rather than just rote learning their work. Rote learning is a learning technique, which avoids understanding of a subject and instead focuses on memorisation.
