Behaviour Code

Kormilda College adheres to the philosophy that a school should be a safe, supportive and respectful teaching and learning environment for all students. Safe Schools NT was developed to support and assist schools in building safe environments.

The Safe Schools NT Code of Behaviour outlines:

  • The rights of all people to be treated with respect and dignity
  • The rights of all students to learn
  • The rights of all teachers to teach
  • The rights of all to be safe

Safe Schools NT implements the National Safe Schools Framework which identifies nine key elements for schools in planning, implementing and maintaining school safety.

  1. Leadership commitment to a safe school.
  2. A supported and connected school culture.
  3. Policies and procedures.
  4. Professional learning.
  5. Positive behaviour management.
  6. Engagement, skill development and safe school curriculum.
  7. A focus on student wellbeing and student ownership.
  8. Early intervention and targeted support.
  9. Partnerships with families and community.
