A World of Opportunity

What's in the Name?

According to a number of very reputable internet sites the word 'Baru' was an extinct genus of Australian crocodilian. In researching the name further you would find out that it also refers to the crocodile and is the totem of the Gumatj people who originate in north-east Arnhem land here in the top end of Australia. So it stands to reason that Australia's foremost apex predator should also be the spirit behind our great house here at Kormilda College!
