Taking an active role amongst the global community and being a good international citizen is important to Kormilda.
We are the only College in the Northern Territory to have gained international accreditation as a full member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). This valuable membership affords us access to the latest educational practices, attract expert staff, facilitate student connections with universities around the world, and provide a quality international education experience to our students, parents and surrounding community.
Complementing our CIS membership, Kormilda is also a world school member of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), which has its headquarters in Switzerland.
In line with the IB framework, languages form an integral role within our curriculum and are compulsory within our Primary and Middle Years programs. We actively encourage students to develop an awareness and appreciation of other cultures, which is further enhanced through the diversity of 25 nationalities within our own community campus.
Kormilda embraces Darwin's geographical location and has forged close relations with our nearest Asian neighbour Indonesia, by partnering with four of its schools in Java, Bali, Lombok and the Maluku Islands through formal agreements including the BRIDGE Australia-Asia Education Foundation
Kormilda is also accredited with the federal government’s Study in Australia program.
