Kormilda College is currently trialling the use of Apple iPad2 devices at the school with year 6 and 7 students.
The iPads are the iPad2 16GB WiFi only model. For use at home, they need to connect to a wireless network which has Internet access. At the College the iPads connect to the school WiFi network which then provides access to the Internet. The iPads do not have 3G connectivity and so cannot access the Internet where they do not have wireless connectivity available.
Kormilda has a team of students called iAssist that provide support for students using the iPads. The iAssist team can be found in the College Library during lunchtimes. If students have issues with their iPads or simply need guidance in using them, then they can drop in and see the iAsisst team.
The Kormilda College iPad Guideline document below offers basic information on setting up and using the iPads for use at the College. Each student was given a printed copy of the guide when they were issued with the iPad. The version on this website will be updated with relevant information when necessary so please download a copy to ensure you have the latest information on the iPad supplied by the College. If students with iPads access the PDF below from the iPad itself then they can then open it on their iPad using the iBooks App and have the guide available on the iPad.
