A World of Opportunity

School Captains' Report: May 2017

It's that time of the Term where we are nearly ready for our mid year break!

This Term has been full of exciting and rewarding events such as our stand and musical acts at the Seabreeze Festival as well as the Fred’s Pass Show.

We also had a great free-dress day and BBQ for the World Greatest Shave where some inspiring students raised funds by shaving their hair! Congrats to everyone that participated.

We would also like to congratulate everyone that did their best in the Naplan testing, it’s a tough week for all the students but we are glad everyone pulled through.

Some of the most exciting events to happen here at Kormilda are the camps. It was the Year 8's and 9's turn to spend some time away with the Year 8's traveling to Douglas station and the Year 9's to Hayes Creek. We hope you all enjoyed that little bit of adventure for the year. Next term there will be expeditions again to Hayes Creek, Coomalie creek, Litchfield, and Butterfly Gorge, which is very exciting for all those year groups.

Congratulations to the BARU house for taking out the Athletics Day Cup, it was very well deserved. Well done to all the other houses and all those who participated. It was a great day full of house spirit for all teams.

Next term is going to be very exciting, full of lots of events. Especially the production of Footloose! That will be performing on the 8th and 9th of June so be sure to come down and support our very own actors, singers, and dancers!

We wish everyone the best for the coming next few weeks, especially for those studying for their end of semester exams. Good Luck!
