Term Two has been a busy but successful term for many students. Over the course of the term there have been exams, cricket tournaments, AFL games, Twilight Tours and Turtle Tracks tours, which many of our students have been involved in.
A number of students have faced challenges this term, from exams or learning new material in class. Whatever it has been that you have faced during this term, congratulate yourself for getting through what often feels like the longest term of the year.
This term has had a large focus on sports with house competitions being run during Friday lunchtimes by the various House Captains. The involvement in these activities has been amazing with games such as basketball, soccer and volleyball being held in various parts of the school. Earlier in the term there was a giant “foosball” competition held in the gym, which certainly provided an entertaining time for everyone who came along.
Additionally the Year Twelve Leadership Team held a movie night, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, for boarding students that was enjoyed by all. Grades 6, 7 and 8 held their yearly social, another very enjoyable event.
As the holidays are fast approaching there are lots of exciting trips and camps coming up which students are looking forward to. The Year Twelve students are going on a community service trip to Laos so to refurbish a school in a remote village; and the Year Elevens and Twelves are running SONY camp while the girls’ netball team will be heading over to Singapore to compete internationally.
Term 2 has been an exciting and successful term with a wide range of activities held throughout the school day and after school. The involvement from across the College has been great, reflecting the growing school spirit within Kormilda. We hope you have an enjoyable and well-deserved semester break and we hope to see you next term.
