School Captains' Report: May 2017

It's that time of the Term where we are nearly ready for our mid year break!

This Term has been full of exciting and rewarding events such as our stand and musical acts at the Seabreeze Festival as well as the Fred’s Pass Show.

We also had a great free-dress day and BBQ for the World Greatest Shave where some inspiring students raised funds by shaving their hair! Congrats to everyone that participated.

Captains' Report: February 2017

It’s great to be back, especially to welcome the fresh faces of the new students, staff and teachers.

We are already in Week 5, wow what a quick term! We have already gotten off to a great start, full of activities and events. Our Valentine’s Day fundraiser went really well and we would like to thank all organising members, especially Jasmin for all her hard work.

We would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday before the end of this year. 2016 has been full of successful events such as sports days, overseas trips for students, and many student-run fundraisers. It certainly was an exciting year, with the Year 12s moving onto the next chapter of their lives. We would like to wish them all the best for their future endeavours and can’t wait to hear about what they achieve.

School Captain's Report - September 2016

And that’s a wrap! Another Term gone by and what an eventful one it has been! So far this week has seen a whole school assembly and free dress day to raise money for Cancer research. We firstly, wish to congratulate all those who received awards on Monday, well done on your fantastic achievement. Secondly, we’d like to say farewell to the incredible Indonesian Exchange students and teachers who have been part of our College community throughout Term 3. Thank you so much for all you have contributed this Term, we hope you had a fantastic experience in Darwin.

School Captain's Report - August 2016

We are now halfway through another Term, and so far a lot has been happening at Kormilda College. Recently, our four College Houses went head to head in ‘Capture the Flag’ involving the whole school. The game was truly exhilarating and all houses showed great teamwork, house spirit and sportsmanship.

For our Senior School students, this Term has presented the opportunity to take part in talks from different universities from across Australia. We would like to wish those in Senior School the best of luck in finding the right university and achieving their goals.

School Captain's Report - July 2016

Welcome back to Semester 2! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that you’re refreshed and ready for a fantastic Term 3. For our fellow year 12 students, this is it! The last leg! Term 3 is going to be a stressful and difficult term for all of us. It’s more important now than ever to stand together as a cohort and support each other through this tough yet memorable time of our lives. Let’s make the most of the time we have left and go forward with a positive attitude and mindset to tackle every challenge and work hard to finish this year on a high note.

School Captains' Report, March 2016

As Term 1 comes to a close, we can look back on all the exciting experiences the last few months have brought. We’ve had Sports Day, the World’s Greatest Shave and most recently, Harmony Week.

Throughout this term our SRC has strived to collect and develop ideas on future positive improvement at Kormilda College. This included a uniform survey and the beginning of new improvements in regards to cultural and environmental aspects.

Message from the Captains

Wow! Time really flies when you’re having fun. It’s already Week 5 of Term 1 and everything’s in full swing. 2016 is a big year, not just for us Year 12’s, but for all other year levels too. Going up a grade is always big step up and we’re all just settling back into the humdrum of school life. Although starting school again is a little terrifying, it’s also a great opportunity to make new friends. Don’t be afraid to give someone a wave and smile, they’re most likely just as terrified as you are.

School Captain's Report, March 2015

The first term of the year has been very eventful, challenging but also incredibly rewarding for much of the school community. Whatever issues you have faced during the course of this term, congratulate yourself for overcoming challenges and continue to do your best. 2015 marks the inaugural year for the Kormilda College Primary School and already the primary school students have established themselves as an integral part of our sense of unity.
