A World of Opportunity

Kormilda Results Perform to Target

Congratulations to our 2016 group of Year 12 students. Kormilda College achieved the Top ATAR score for the Northern Territory. Rebecca Spain, an International Baccalaureate(IB) Diploma student at Kormilda College, gained the highest ATAR (Year 12 result) in the Territory. She received 99.95 SACE ATAR and 99.7 as an overall ATAR. Rebecca commenced at Kormilda College in January 2011 in Year 7. She completed the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) before moving into the IB Diploma Programme in Years 11 and 12.

Overall, 82.3% of our Year 12 students passed their Year 12 studies. With the IB students, the average ATAR was 88.27 and 87% of students passed their IB Diploma. Nine students out of the 23 IB students (39.1%) gained an ATAR in the 90's.

With the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET), the average ATAR was 62.7 and 78.5% of students passed, with six Indigenous students gaining their NTCET certificate. We are pleased that we can offer students a choice in senior school: the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme (IBDP) or the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) with VET options.

In summary, our Top IB ATAR was 99.95 and our Top NTCET ATAR was 88.45. In addition to this, our Indigenous students met the high expectations of their teachers with 6 Indigenous students from remote communities graduating from Year 12. Our Top NTCET ATAR from an Indigenous student from a remote area community was Natalie Maymuru with an ATAR (NTCET) of 74.4. Second Indigenous student was Maria Kypreos with an ATAR of 74.1.

Kormilda College has long been regarded as a ‘lighthouse’ school, with proven results and international recognition. This aligns to our key performance indicators of growing our students' learning outcomes and confirms that we are not only meeting our targets, but also adding value to our students' learning experiences.
